Program Description

Upward Bound provides fundamental support to Grade 12 students in preparation for their career path after Senior High School. It gives opportunities for them to succeed in their work immersion and ultimately in their future employment and/or college entry.

Through Upward Bound, students will:

learn critical skills required in today’s work environment;
build confidence and define value propositions to make informed decisions about their chosen career path;
set goals and build a roadmap to their exit after senior high school;
build connections with successful alumni in the field of Technical-Vocational Education and industry representatives; and
gain lifelong career skills.

The activities, which are conducted in a progressive manner, include themes such as:

Career options for Technical-Vocational graduates.
Benefits of entering the workforce after Senior High School.
Jobs available for Senior High School students in the manufacturing industry.
Benefits of entering college after Senior High School.
Right Course and Right College.
Preparing for one’s chosen path after Senior High School.
